Notes: Long, flat, blueish green needles, 2 to 3 inches long. Buds in early spring. White fir has slow to median growth rate. It’s wood is soft and knotty. Cylindrical brown cones 4” to 5” long. A fir native to the mountains of western North America. Easily transplanted. White Fir is widely planted as an ornamental tree in parks and larger gardens It adds nice color to typical green winter foliage. It is popular as a Christmas tree.
