Latin: Picea glauca

Other common names: Canadian spruce, Black Hills spruce, skunk spruce, cat spruce

Mature Height: 75 ft.

Soil / Climate: Zones 2-7

Notes: Often used for windbreaks, lumber and in some parts of the country as a Christmas tree. 

Wildlife: Winter shelter for wildlife.  Squirrls will eat the buds.  Spruce grouse eat the needles.  The seed is eated by a variety of woodpeckers, pheasant, and many other varieties of birds.
 
Cold Stream Farm supplies White Spruce trees which are grown as bare root seedlings and transplants and sold both wholesale and retail with no minimum order.
