Wholesale Fraser & Douglas Fir Trees

You may recognize the Douglas Fir tree as a favorite for Christmas decorating, but these trees also add a cozy, inviting feeling to your home and lawn. Cold Stream Farm is the best choice for wholesale Fraser and Douglas Fir trees for sale in Michigan. We're local, and we understand which types of trees work best for our climate to give our customers the lush greenery they desire. The Douglas Fir is also known as the Oregon Pine or Douglas Spruce. This tree is common as an ornamental tree, usually in groups as windbreaks or hedges. It's a hardy, fast-growing evergreen native to the slopes of the Rocky Mountains, but adaptable enough to grow in our lush Michigan soil.

The Douglas Fir has no significant disease or pest issues to be concerned with, so you won't have to use sprays or treatments. Without pruning, it tends to grow in a symmetrical, pyramidal shape that lends an understated elegance to your landscape. It's most popular in its natural form, but it can take well to sheering if you'd prefer a dense cone or even a compact hedge. The bluish-green needles occasionally take on a delightful yellowish-green hue, contributing to its ornamental appeal. The boughs are soft to the touch and lightly scented; many people enjoy trimming a few to decorate their homes during the winter holidays. The tree may shed needles in drier seasons but will retain its appearance throughout all four seasons. It can grow in most types of soil, and once established, will require very little additional watering or care.
