Wildlife: The fruit is a favorite food of the ruffed grouse, pheasant, woodpecker.  Countless other birds rely upon the fruit, seed, buds, nectar, and flowers for food.  Deer are drawn to crabapple trees for the fruit and to browse any new growth.
