Mature Height: 20 ft. tall if untrimmed, but thickens up under heavy pruning.

Soil / Climate: Zones 3-8    Native to North East Asia performs best in colder climates (cool summers)

Amur Maple can adapt to different types of soil, It is easily transplanted and can be heavily pruned. Full sun or partial shade

Notes: introduced to N. America The leaves turn a brilliant orange to red in the fall. It is also valued in Japan and elsewhere  for bonsai. It produces small, fragrant, pale yellow flowers in clusters in early spring. Because of their smaller size, they  work well in residential yards or small landscapes as hedges and screens.  Amur maple leaves have been used as tea leaf substitutes. Dried leaves can be used for different colors of dyes.

Wildlife: Amur Maple buds, twigs, seeds, flowers, bark and foilage are good  summer cover and food to  upland game and song birds, fur bearers, game animals, small mammals and hoofed browsers.
